Mark and Leah are dedicated to breeding a Vizsla of refinement and beauty, with a friendly temperament and one that is competitive in the show ring and field. Our Vizslas are bred and raised at home among our scenic gardens. More importantly, they are whelped in our bedroom and raised in our home as new members of our family. Attention is given to that critical early period which affects their interaction with man and dogs later in their lives.

The AKC describes the Vizsla as "demonstratively affectionate." Unlike some bird dogs, they will not be happy living in an outdoor kennel. This breed considers themselves a part of the family. They will always be underfoot, touching you if possible. Whether you are in your favorite chair or in bed, expect a snuggle partner. Upon greeting a friend...your friends are their friends and deserve the old family face lick. This shameless behavior is what also endears them to their owners and creates true Vizsla lovers. They are almost human in their emotions. They MUST be an integral part of the family. Their hunting ability is in no way compromised by catering to this need.

Leah's love for the breed began in Chicago 1956 when her family got a Vizsla puppy from Charles Hunt, one of the early founders of the breed in the United States. Her name was Borka and was the family pet for many years. Mark and Leah raised their 4 kids with Vizslas. They had their own Borka. With their gentle loving nature, they make great pets with children. However, families with toddlers or young children should learn about the special training needs for both the dog and the children.

It is truely important to buy the breed of dog that fits your family's needs, expectations and lifestyles. If you are considering a Vizsla, we will be happy to answer any breed specific questions.
